4. Breath sampling
Verifying self-reported drug use among people at nightclubs and parties
Some people may under or over report their drug use depending on a variety of things, such as where they are asked, who they are with and many others. This study will look at some of the reasons why people may do this when asked about their drug use at nightclubs. We plan to take breath samples from people on a night out to analyse them for a range of drugs, and compare the results with what the person reported taking. We will also ask some people to take a short (online) questionnaire to see why they think people might under or over report drug use, and what could be done to create a safer space for more open conversations.
